How a steel drum instrument is made

Hand stamped, essentially, for the perfect pitch. Imagine having to work in this factory all day long, every single day of your life.

Anyway, it's been a long time since I've heard a steel drum being played. There used to be a guy at 34th Street-Herald Square Subway station that played this inside, but I don't know what happened to him. The Subway acoustics make for a great place to listen to steel drums I think. Would love to hear that guy again.
