How a person living on $7.50/hour lives every day

This is the story of Safiyyah Cotton, a woman who lives on a paycheck of about $240 every two weeks. Her $7.50/hour wage at McDonald's is not enough to support herself and her young son, so she relies on government assistance in several ways to make ends meet.

This video from CNN Money was published in 2015. I'd love to know that Safiyyah and her son are doing alright today. I hope her situation has improved.

Do me a favor and skip the YouTube video comments. The worst of the worst (obviously).
